I trained at NETT over a year ago and it has drasticaly changed my life for the better. I am now doing a job I love and take pride in and get paid loads for the service. Before then I had only had a very limited amount of tiling experience using cheap ceramics in my own bathroom, I am now well on my way to building up a solid reputation for quality tiling in my area. The training I received at NETT was really top class, at NETT Darren will implant his vast knowledge of not only tiling but business marketing and sales.
Darren will show you everything you need to know to get you on your way to be a pro-tiler, the rest is up to you.
He will show you the fundamentals is business to give you the best chance of success. He will also show you tiling techniques that he has developed and tuned over the last 20odd years, these once you have learned you will never forget. After you have trained at NETT, Darren is only a call or email away if you have any urgent tiling problems, I have personally used this service many times.
At NETT you are made to feel very welcome by his wife Tracey who will make loads of tea throughout the day.
If you are looking to train as a pro tiler or just fancy learning tiling out of interest then I would recommend NETT.

Trained at the NETT during April 2008, the whole course and team delivery is realistic, effiecient, down to earth, business like, and in a word "pragmatic".
It is hard work and real value for money. If you want to become a tiler this course will provide you with a solid starting foundation.
Paul ( Tiling Xpressions )
As Charlie1 SAYS TOP COURSE WELL PLANNED OUT LOTS OF BUSINESS TIPS EG HOW TO SET UP A BUSINESS TAX NAT INS ETC.The delivery of the course is well structured and is divided equally by practical skills and in theory. The course is value for money and i think the course can be done over two weekends which is good if you have a Monday to Friday job as no hols need to be taken.
The course will be delivered by Darren and he will show you how to cut the shape out of a tile if there is a power cut and you cant use the power tools to do cuts, which is a very good skill to learn. You will learn all about how a tile is made and how to identify different types of tiles. All the different adhesive types and grouts are covered and you get to use these products. You will have the chance to purchase tools and equipment from the course as Darren will cover exactly what you need to get started in the tiling world.
So to sum up the NETT course, expertly delivered and organised,a great learning curve and value for money and as like Charlie1 said it has also been a life turning opportunity for myself and i THANK darren FOR THAT.
I did the NETT course in April 2007 and found the course to be even more than I'd hoped for.I was looking for a change in career and was hoping to take up tiling as a profession,I did a lot of research on which course was best to take.
To be honest I was a bit dubious about taking a 4 day course as I didn't think it would cover enough but looking at the cost of a 3 possible 4 week course which would also mean accomodation and travel costs I decided to give it ago after the great feedback I'd recieved about it and the welcoming phone call I had with Tracy.
The course was brilliant!no other word to describe it.Darren before teaching you his vast knowledge of tiling will teach you ways of generating business which is just as important as the tiling, all the little things you might not think about like setting up trade accounts, dealing with all the paperwork and taxes are all covered.
The course is fast paced but delivers all the information you need and because of the way Darren delivers the course all the information sticks in your brain.
I'd never touched a tile in my life but by the end of the course I'd finished my bay to a great standard with difficult cutting of tiles and special set patterns,it gave me a real sense of achievement and at the end of the course I had the confidence to go into a customers house, give a good quote and do a really professional job.
I am now earning very good money, doing a job I really enjoy and have great satisfaction in going to work everyday.
I would like to say a big thank you to Darren,Tracey,Paul and everyone else at NETT for all there help and I would highly recommend this course whether you want to change career or your just wanting to learn to tile in your own house.
Finished my course on Friday and have to say it was far better than I could have ever expected.
Everything is at a fast rate and sometimes you can feel lost, as in what the hell is going on here! However if you just listen and hang in there it will all make perfect sense in the end. It is a course full of knowledge that you eventually realise all comes down to common sense.
I cannot speak highly enough of the course, I had never laid a tile in my life but now know that I have the knowledge and support (either by the notes given or by emailing Darren if needed) to make a go of tiling.
From my financial services background I have been on more courses than I care to remember but never been on one as good as this.
Finished my course at NETT last Wed ( 8 day one) and had never done any tiling before. I came away with a lot more than I expected.
This is a very fast paced course and covers everything, bear In mind that Darren also covers business set up especially if your only interest is DIY.
I thoroughly enjoyed it, and would recommend it to anyone thinking of making a career change , just bear in mind the long days and If you haven't done any hard physical work for a while ( heaviest thing I've lifted in nine years is a PC) you will be a bit sore, but you'll be having a great time.
having looked at various courses in scotland i decided to check out NETT as i wanted to change my career and look to work for myself . I was amazed at the amount of information and skills learned in 4 days .I now have had a few tiling jobs mainly from friends but now i am starting to get more work from people i dont know .I have talked to people who were on the course at the time and found that people who had done other courses had learned more in the 4 days than spending 2 weeks just tiling on other courses so i would highly recomend NETT even if you have to travel from scotland and stay in accomadation it is well worth the extra time and expense
